NWU condemns

IMPHAL, June 10: Naga Women’s Union (NWU) has condemned the gunfire attack towards the neighbourhood of Human Rights Defenders, Panti Gonmei of Tarung on 6 June at around 3 am as a threat to stop the defence of the Human Rights and the struggle for justice for helpless victims of rapes, tortures, human trafficking, extra judicial killings and racial discrimination.

However, the Union has claimed that a mobile threat had also occurred on 11 December 2013 and appealed to the attackers not to repeat such action in the future.

It also appeals to the concerned authority of Manipur government to curb such crime from occurring in the future by identifying the accused immediately and be awarded a befitting punishment.
