MPHAL, June 4: The Sanjenthong Bridge Diversion Demand Committee has stated that the Thumbuthong and the Minuthong that are being used in the meantime while Sanjenthong is under construction is in a dilapidated condition.
The Committee further stated that there are no traffic police at the traffic islands at Moirangkhom and Loklaobung which shows the government’s negligence of the condition of the state. The committee has further urged the authority concerned for installing fire tenders at the Imphal East District Police during the construction of Sanjenthong.
Furthermore, the SBDCC has also demanded the government to consider before June 8 to construct a small bridge near the Sanjenthong. Actions will be taken up if the demand is not met with and appeals to the people of the state to support their cause said the Chairman of SBDDC, said a release.
