SDSA, KSO-SH settle APDS, ADUSH dispute

KANGPOKPI, June 3: Analysing the prevailing situation regarding the disabled people organisations in Senapati district today in a joint meeting at SDSA office, Senapati, Senapati District Student’s Association (SDSA) and Kuki Students’ Organization Sadar Hills(KSO-SH) declared the Association of Persons with Disability Senapati (APDS) as baseless and invalid.

The joint declaration signed by Thangminlen Kipgen, president KSO Sadar Hills and Dominic Th Azuna, president SDSA said that after frequent allegations against one another among the different organisations of disabled people in the district, the two student bodies summoned a minute meeting today.

During the meeting it was endorsed and accepted that APDS emerged only after the formation of the All Disable Union Sadar Hills(ADUSH) and Senapati Disabled People Association Manipur(SDPAM) which are the only recognized disabled bodies in Senapati.

It further continued that after failing to witness any activities or programs undertaken by APDS for the welfare of disabled persons within Senapati district, the two apex student bodies declared it as baseless and invalid while out rightly claiming not to recognise the association further more.

In the meantime, the two student bodies appeals ARCS Kangpokpi to cancel the registration of APDS immediately as it fails to reflect any testimonials of its being genuine body while adding that with no knowledge of its existence in the district till recently it sprang up out of nowhere in local papers.

The two apex student bodies also urged all government establishments, administrations, NGOs, Civil Organisations and the general public not to entertain or recognized APDS for any purpose at any point in their joint declaration.
