Tarung residents protest violent attack in neighbourhood

IMPHAL, May 7: Twelve communities co-inhabiting at the Tarung Village area today staged a sit in protest against the May 6 firing upon at the house of Rongmei Lu Phuam (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) president Panti Golmei.

The protest was organised at the Tarung Auto Stand, Grace Colony.

Speaking to the media, secretary of the local Meira Paibis, Memcha said such violent activity in the residential area is totally unacceptable and leaves a fear psychosis among the locals.

RK Ajuanliu, a resident of Grace Colony said those involved in the attack should clarify at the earliest as the people want to live in peace and are against such violence.
