IMPHAL, June 19: The “Test Marketing Programme for Prototypes developed under Integrated Design and Technical Development Project in Porter and Terracotta Crafts” was inaugurated today at the Community Hall of Naharol Sintha Kanglup, Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, organised by the Craft and Social Development Organisation (CSDO), Kongba Makha Nandeibam Leikai, and sponsored by Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicraft), Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, New Delhi.
Local MLA E Chand Singh attended the function as the chief guest.
Others who attended the function included T Rollee Vareishim, assistant director (H), marketing and service extension centre, Imphal, Office of the development commissioner (Handicrafts), ministry of Textiles, Govt Of India and Dr O Kumar Singh, (retd) Principal, DM College and former Spdt, Archaeology, Govt of Manipur.
Th Premeshor Singh, secretary general, CSDO said that the project developed more than 50 nos. of prototypes with the help of Ranjita Ngangom, empanelled designer (NER) under the man-power of 50 craftspersons and as part of the design project, the CSDO is organising 3 days Test Marketing Programme for the prototypes developed under Integrated Design Project at the community hall from 19th – 21st June.
At the function, E. Chand has expressed his opinion on maintaining quality and durability of the prototypes so as to compare with other parts of the country and also to fix a reasonable price where all the common man can afford it.
O. Kumar Singh stated that for existence of a society, the society need three organisations- Social Organisation, which bring unification for the member of a society, Political Organisation which is a diplomatic separation within and outside the society and Economic Organisation which need to organise into production, consumption and distribution.
He further stated that these three organisations are very weak in our State and without economic independence, a society cannot progress or achieved the goal and as handicraft is one great means in the state of Manipur, it can improve and develop the economic crisis.
