Wabagai social organisations concerns with ‘gold-snatching’ incidents

IMPHAL, June 5: A public meeting against Bilat Ali who was trying to attack children by forcefully trying to snatch away gold earring from school children studying in Amutombi Divine Life, English school, Wabagai Leikhai Bazaar on 1June. And discussion against the police official posted in Kakching police station for trying to falsely charge against the residence of Wabagai for beating Bilat ali was held today at Wabagai Awang Leikai Mandtop organised jointly by Wabagai Awang leikai Youth Development Association and Meira Paibi.

The presidium member present in the meeting were WALYDA president Laishram Guni, Wabagai member ward No 2 Huidrom ongbi Echan Devi, Wabagai Awang Leikai Meira Paibi secretary Kangjam Ongbi Thasana.

Functionaries of All Manipur Women Social Information and Development Samaj (AMWSRDS), (All Manipur Student Union) AMSU,president Thiyam Naresh were also present in the meeting.

WALYDA secretary Huidrom Bijen said that the meeting was organised mainly not to repeat this inhuman act towards children who are very young and fragile. A child should be treated with love and care not mistreat or threaten them.

He further added that if this kind of in human act continues in our society what do we expect from our future generation.

He said the incident of snatching gold earring and necklace has been happening frequently in our society and this should be stopped before it’s too late.

Speaking at media one of the victim Boynao (name changed) a class 7 student of ADL said that this is the second time happening with us and Bilat Ali always ask our gold earring.

The organisation strongly appealed the government and the concern authority to take up action against Bilat Ali for his mistreatment towards children. The meeting urged not to interpret the matter into a communal propaganda. They lastly appealed all the social organisations, club organisations to support so that this kind of inhuman act does not happen in the future.
