Everyone must be aware of the importance of sustaining our hills and forests

IMPHAL, June 30: The Manipur Mountaineering Institute can be turned into a tourist spot which will not only help the institute but also the economy of the people living around the area. This was stated by Governor VK Duggal in the closing ceremony of the 3rd Children Adventure Camp at Manipur Mountaineering Institute Complex on Monday. The camp which was jointly organised by Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association and 27 Sector Assam Rifle began on June 27.

Pointing out that the institute can be further developed to turn into a centre of excellence with necessary infrastructure for different aspects of adventure activities, he said: “All across the globe, adventure and eco-tourism is becoming an important segment of tourism and its adherents are increasing annually.
