JAC sets July 2 deadline for arrest of ‘culprits’

IMPHAL, June 30: The JAC formed in connection with the alleged killing of Nongthongbam Raghuchandra submitted a memorandum to the State Chief Minister today setting a deadline for the arrest of all those involved in the crime.

The dead body of Nongthongbam Raghuchandra alias Richi, 32, son of Ibomcha of Oinam Bazar with multiple injuries was found along the roadside at Leimaram Waroiching near a bridge build across the Wakching Rivernearby a commando and VDF post on June 29 morning.

The JAC has set July 2 for the government to arrest the culprits.

The memorandum declared that the JAC and family members will not claim the body until all those involved were arrested.

It has also warned to launch severe forms of agitations from the next day if in case the government was unable to make any arrest by the set deadline.

A copy of the same memorandum was also submitted to the deputy Chief Minister who is also the State Home minister.
