JAC warns of indefinite strike, sets July 5 deadline in Boby killing case

THOUBAL, July 3: The JAC formed in connection with the death of Hidam Boby has set July 5 as deadline for the police to arrest and produce those involved in the incident.

During a sit in protest held today at Yairipok bazar, the JAC has decided to launch state-wide indefinite general strike from 6am of July 6, if the government fails to meet its demand.

Hidam Boby’s body was found near the the Yairipok Singa Tamengkhong under Yairipok Police Station on June 1.

Today’s sit in protest was participated by meira paibis, volunteers of local youth clubs of Langdum Awang Leikai, locals of Yairipok Bamol Leikai.

Boby’s widow, Bisheshwori told the media that her husband had no enmity with anyone and was sole earner of her small family.

His death has brought untold miseries to her family, she lamented.

She further questioned how she is supposed to feed her two small children.

Bisheshwori further appealed to the government to arrest the culprits at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the JAC has also appealed for the government to provide a suitable job to the Boby’s widow considering her plight.

Protestors held placards demanding the arrest and identification of the killers and to provide justice.
