LFS girl murder case: Accussed’s bail plea rejected

IMPHAL: July 26: District & Session Judge/Manipur West has rejected a bail petition of an accused in the LFS girl kidnap case of 2003, Heisnam Ningol alias Prem Devi.

Heisnam Ningol alias Prem Devi, 57, daughter of Yaima Singh, Nongmaikhong Awang Leikai under Kumbi Police Station, has been under judicial custody since April 8, 2014 in connection with the case taken up by a special team of the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The said accused had earlier pleaded for bail before the Chief Judicial Magistrate/Imphal West, RK Memcha Devi on April 30 2014, after her arrest, which was however rejected on June 21, 2014.

Further, the accused again pleaded for bail before the court of District & Session Judge/Manipur East on June 30, 2014.

The bail hearing case was transferred to the court of the District & Session Judge/Manipur West.

Argument and hearing of the bail pleas which took place yesterday in the said court has rejected her bail plea.

Special Public Prosecutor H Chandrajit Sharma argued on behalf of the CBI during the case.

It may be mentioned that girl was kidnapped 10 years ago on November 4 2003, and is the daughter of a minister of the Ibobi led government.
