IMPHAL, July 22: The cleaning of Loktak Lake is being taken up by M/S HVS Construction Materials Pvt Ltd Imphal. The total amount of money earmarked for cleaning the lake is 224.39 Crores. As of now, 180.33 Crores have already been invested, and the cleaning will be completed by February next year.
This was stated by the Chief Minister of Manipur, answering to a question from Th Shyamkumar, MLA of Andro AC during the Question hour Session. The CM was replying on behalf of Forest and Environment Minister Th Devendra.
Th Shyamkumar also has enquired about the actual date on which the cleaning of the lake had started. The CM said he could not remember the actual date, but it could be in between 2010 or 2011, and said he will submit the detail in the House later.
