Jiribam, July 17: Students and community leaders of Barak Circle, Jiribam sub-division staged a sit-in-protest from 7 am. to 2 pm today in front of the Borobekra Police Station, demanding that the 7th IRB post should not be shifted from its present place.
According to a reliable source, the people were worried over a news that the 7th IRB post will be soon shifted and staged the sit in protest.
One of the community leaders has stated that 7 IRB post has converted Barak Circle into a peaceful place with better life, unlike olden days when there were frequent gun fights between Armies and Underground groups.
Barak Development Demand Committee has also expressed their opinion to keep such kind of disciplined IRB in Barak Circle, which is a place of multiple communities.
