LAMKA, July 17: The Manipur Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today inaugurated the Churachandpur District Mahila Morcha office at B Vengnuam, Tuibuang, in a building just next to the SP’s office.
A mass enrolment for party members was also kicked off during the inaugural of the office today which was also attended by top functionaries of the State BJP and a sizeable number of local party members.
State Mahila Morcha president, Ibemcha Devi attended as the chief guest, of the inaugural function.
The chief guest speaking on the occasion emphasised on the importance of women and said they play a pivotal role in producing leaders of the society and the country.
She said womenfolk of the State need to join hands with the BJP to bring about a transformation in the State.
‘Men are not so good without use’, she said and then requested for the women and the youth to come out in large numbers to join the party.
State president in charge L Mangiton speaking at the occasion said the party is not recognising the splinter party.
Due to the misdeeds of a few, there are reports of a crack in the party which is unacceptable to the State party leadership, he said.
The party needs the women and youth participation so as to make inroads in the next coming elections, particularly the Autonomous District Council elections which will be held nextyear, he said.
During today’s ceremony, the party’s candidate in the recent parliamentary election, prof Gangmumei Kamei hoisted the BJP party flag and spoke on the importance of district level mandals.
He further stressed on the need to see as many enrolment as possible to make the party stronger.
He said the notion that BJP is a communal party should end as it was the opposite and said that he believes that BJP stands for Gandhian Socialism and integrated humanism.
Late the BJP leaders visited the Khuga Dam and said they will draft a memorandum and submit to the central leaders on the condition of the dam.
