Four injured in fire mishap at Singjamei

IMPHAL, August 30: Four persons including three of a family were injured when a DI Truck loaded with three barrels of petrol caught fire at Singjamei Liwa Road this evening around 6.

The incident occured at the Singjamei Chingamakha Ningthoujam Leikai Liwa Road residence of the truck owner Koijam Sanayaima, 41 son of (L) Iboyaima, who was also injured in the fire.

The others injured have been identified as Sanayaima’s wife K (o) Minabai, 35, his brother K Sanjoy, 30 and Waikhom Pritam, 30, son of W Ibotombi.

All injured have been admitted at the Shija Hospitals and Research Institute for treatment, where Sanjoy’s condition is said to be serious.

The truck registration no. MN 06L 6110 was toally damaged in the fire, however, timely arrival of the Fire service tenders and personnel under the command of DO L Nabachandra controlled the fire from spreading to the nearby house.
