Release of ILP activists demanded

IMPHAL, Aug 1: The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System has demanded the release of the women folk arrested in relation with the agitation for ILP implementation.

According to a release of the committee, it stated that the City Police’s act of arresting the 106 women protestors is against the laws of the land.

It condemned the arrest of JCILPS Executive Committee member, Pukhrambam Arjun by the Police commandos on July 28 on the false charge that he was part of a UG party. The committee has demanded the release of the Arjun and the women protestors immediately before stronger action are taken up, it said.
