IRE Wangjing to host six-day national education workshop

THOUBAL, September 19: A six-day national residential workshop on the theme, “Change begins with me: Transforming education through commitment,” will be held at the Institute of Rural Education-IRE (College of Teacher Education) complex, Wangjng, said N Rajivkumar, principal of IRE, in a press conference at his office today.

He said the workshop is being organised in association with Initiative & Intervention, New Delhi and Experimental Theatre Foundation, Mumbai’ and purely a non-sponsorship workshop, but being organized only in the interest of the B ed trainers of the institute.

He said this will be the fifth time that the IRE will be holding a national residential workshop.

During the workshop, two master trainers on human resource development personality Dr Mahaveer Jain and Manjul Bhardwaj will be present as resource persons, he said.

While reflecting the main objectives of the workshop, Rajivkumar further said, the chief objective of education is to understand one’s own attitudes.

So the workshop is designed as such to equip the profession of teaching to contribute and become effective catalyst in itself and professional excellence, he said.

Saying this programme is designed for individuals/ institutions that are in the field of education/teaching profession,Rajivkumar appealed to all the concerned to make the workshop a grand success.
