IMPHAL, September 2: Candidates selected for the posts of Sub Inspectors and Jemadars have expressed today that their perseverance and courage to face adversities have been tested beyond limits by the delay in issuing of their appointment orders.

This was stated during a press briefing held after their formal meeting at Manipur Press Club.

Speaking to the media, Th Koklen Meitei, a selected candidate, appealed the government to issue their appointment orders at the earliest because it has been almost five years now.

Recalling that on July 1, a notice from the concerned authority informed them to collect their appointment orders by July 16 from the Police Headquarter, he said, however, when the selected candidates reached the PHQ to collect their appointment orders, they found that the matter had been postponed indefinitely after the earlier order got superseded by a new order.

When further enquiries were made to the concerned authority, they informed that due to incomplete verification among the 344 selected candidates (285 SI and 59 Jemadar), the names of 87 candidates were withheld, he said.

On January 26 this year, the Deputy Chief Minister has already announced to issue the appointment orders after proper verification, he added.

He appealed the concerned authorities on behalf of the other candidates to issue the appointment orders of at least those candidates who have completed their verification on humanitarian grounds after considering the hardships faced by them.
