People seek govt jobs only for easy money and comfort sans the responsibility says Dy Speaker

IMPHAL, September 16: Under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, the Regional Directorate of Central Board for Workers Education organised its 56 Workers Education Day under the theme “Innovative Action and Perspective of Workers Education” at its training hall in Palace Compound here today.

The function was graced by deputy speaker of the Manipur State Legislative Assembly, MK Preshow Shimray, also the chairman of the Regional Advisory Committee, CBWE and INTUC (MB) president, as the chief guest and Economist Dr N Mohendro Singh, the chairman of the committee on district planning of the State government as the president. KK Singh, the Ex Regional director of CBWE, Imphal and MN Salam, the Regional Director attended the event as the guests of honour.

Speaking at the function, MK Preshaw Shimray said that workers education day should not only be observed but the merit of observing it should reflect in daily practice too.

He also stated that the workers should be educated and led in the right direction so that workers understand and value work culture too.

Training programme should be frequently organised so that workers have the precise idea of what they do, he added.

Shimray also pointed out that people seek government jobs in the State for the comfort and easy money, adding a sense of responsibility is missing when government employees are posted in far off places.
