IMPHAL, Sept 4: The Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphalhas demanded the immediate suspension of Ukhrul deputy commissioner and superintendent of police while condemning the August 30 incident at Ukhrul which left two demonstrators dead in police firing.
While blaming the Home minister for the present situation, a statement of the Tangkhul body has also demanded the State Home minister Gaikhangam to step down from his post.
The statement further termed the government offered compensation as insulting and at the same time inadequate.
It said such quick fix solutions will offer no solution unless the perennial issues are addressed and further demanded a judicial probe into the incident.
