Tribunal to decide the faith of four TMC MLAs on October 27

IMPHAL, September 18: The final hearing of the Tribunal of the Manipur Legislative Assembly formed under the 10th Schedule of the Indian Constitution for the disqualification of four MLAs has been fixed on October 27 by Speaker Th Lokeshwar on Wednesday.

The counsel of the four MLAs of the Trinamool Congress arrived before the tribunal between 10:30 am and 11am the day before and submitted four counter affidavits to the Speaker, who subsequently fixed the final hearing on October 27.

Trinamool Congress MLAs Khumukcham Joykisan, O Lukhoi, Th Bishwajit and K Sarat are being represented by advocate A Arunkumar whereas advocate S Gunabanta Sharma will represent Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee president Th Shyamkumar.

Meanwhile, Dr I Ibohalbi who is appearing before the Tribunal after a case for his disqualification was filed by Kim Gangte has begged for some more time for submitting his counter affidavit on September 26, the day of hearing for a similar disqualification cases against Manipur State Congress Party MLAs.
