IMPHAL, October 10: Reiterating their earlier claim that their father Laishram Ibomcha has been wrongly accused in the Lourembam Ranjita Devi murder case, L Kenedy along with his brother Naoba and mother Bina today called a press conference at the Manipur Press Club.
Speaking to media persons, Kenedy said his father has been wrongly accused and arrested making their family suffer.
He demanded the government to hand over the investigation to the CBI.
The JAC has never considered what has befallen to the family of the wrongly accused person, he said being adding that dismantling a house and setting it on fire without properly knowing the truth is unfortunate and will not solve the case.
Trying to impose punishment on someone for something he has never committed is unfortunate, he said.
Flanked by his mother and brother, Kenedy urged the government to handover the case to the CBI so that justice is delivered.
Ranjita, 33, resident of Khoirom Mathak Leikai in Thoubal district was found dead in Khoirom paddy field on August 2 this year.
