Kangpokpi school celebrates wildlife week

KANGPOKPI, October 1: Spot painting, Article writing and Quiz Competition on Wildlife theme `Protection on wildlife and other habitat` has been organized in Divisional level in connection with the 59th Wildlife Week Celebration at Apex Christian High School, Motbung today.

The Divisional Level Wildlife Week celebration organized by District Wildlife Warden cum Divisional Forest Officer, Northern Forest Division, Kangpokpi has been attended by Kh. Shyam Singh, IFS, Conservator of Forests, Northern Circle, Govt. of Manipur and Sh. Shamu Singh, MFS (Retd) as Chief Guest and functional president respectively while P. Joychandra Singh, Principal, ACHS attended the occasion as Guest of Honour.

Altogether a total of more than 100 students from various educational institutions within Sadar Hills including 38 students in Spot Painting, 33 students in Article writing and 32 students in Quiz competition took part in competition.

According to T.S. Haokip, Divisional Forest Officer, Northern Forest Division, Kangpokpi, Govt. of Manipur the Wildlife week will be celebrated till October 7 while adding that a cash prize of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,500 and Rs.1,000 along with certificate will awarded to those winners in Spot Painting, Article writing and Quiz competition respectively.

State level prize winners for Painting and Article writing will be selected from the first, second and third winners of the District level competition added T.S. Haokip.
