IMPHAL, Oct 19: A team of the Imphal West District Police commando unit arrested an active member of ZUF (Zeliangrong United Front) from Wahengbam Leikai, Jiri parking area on October 18, said a PRO Police press release.
It identifed the arrested person as Meinguiliu Gangmei, 28, wife of Akham Gangmei of Chingkhonglong village, Tousem sub-division, Tamenglong district.
A case has been registered with the Imphal Police Station and investigation is going on, it said.
Meanwhile, troops of the 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR apprehended an active cadre of UNLF in an operation in the general area Hiyanglam Awang leikai, Thoubal district on October 19, said a PRO IGAR (S) press release.
It said, the cadre was identified as Army No. 1327, self-styled Private Elangban Frank alias Rupa Singh, 25, son of Elangbam Pishak Singh of Hiyanglam Awang Leikai, Thoubal district, and he has been handed over to Kakching Police
