Trucks stranded at Mao Gate due to Zakhama blockade

IMPHAL, Oct 12: Around 150 empty trucks including oil tankers, bound for Assam are reportedly stranded at Mao gate following a blockade at Zakhama, Nagaland.

According to reports, residence of Zakhama imposed the blockade especially trucks from Manipur in protest against the death of a teenage boy who was reportedly knocked down by a truck coming from Manipur last month.

However, passenger vehicles including buses and loaded tankers bound for Imphal were allowed to pass through Zakhama.

Meanwhile, a truck suspected to be involved in the accident has been reportedly intercepted by Nagaland police, informed a source.
