IMPHAL, Oct 1: The UKAL has said that the lup organised a meeting soon to discuss the banning of the Sangai Festival.
According to a release of UKAL, the festival will be banned as the cultural programmes shown during the festival are against the code of conduct. As part of the ongoing protests for Umanglai Bill, a protest will be held at Ikop Ningthou Laibung Tentha Khongbal on October 3 at 1 pm. It has been appealed to Laibung committees, cultural lups, Meira Paibis and to the people in particular, it said.
A press release of the Ibudhou Khongjom Ningthou Haraoba Committee has demanded the government to repeal the Umanglai Bill.
