KOHIMA, Nov 22 (NEPS): Nagaland Governor PB Acharya said all the 60 legislators and the two Members of Parliament (MP) in Nagaland irrespective of their party affiliations should come forward and place their ideas and concepts of Naga political solutions to the negotiating parties before striking a “final settlement” to the long drawn out Naga political problem. “17 years of peace process is long enough and time is ripe to find a final settlement to the Naga political problem,” said the Governor while addressing a Press Conference here at his Kohima Raj Bhavan Official Residence Saturday.
The Governor said a “Civilian Committee” comprising members from Tribal Hohos, Naga Hoho, intellectuals, educationists and prominent personalities should be set up to provide supplement to the ongoing peace process between the Government of India and the Naga leaders so as to reach a final settlement to the issue.
Acharya said there had been a strong Government at the Center under the dynamic Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi who, he explained, wanted to see that some positive result of the ongoing peace process should emerge in six months’ time.
