Narendra Modi`s Manipur visit officially confirmed

IMPHAL, November 24 (NNN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive here on November 30 in an hour-long visit to Manipur to attend the closing ceremony of the ongoing Sangai Festival, it has been officially confirmed by THE State government on Monday.

Modi will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the biggest tourism festival, and that preparations for taking up security measures for the PM`™s visit have begun, official sources said.

A helicopter will transport the Prime Minister to Imphal. His helicopter will land at the Imphal Tulihal International Airport and then he will go to Kangla Fort where he is likely to lay the foundation stone for the proposed Sports University. Then he will attend the closing ceremony of Sangai Festival.

On the same day, Modi will leave Imphal for Nagaland where he will inaugurate the Hornbill Festival of that state on November 1. After that, he will fly to Kolkata to attend a meeting of Chief Ministers of eight North Eastern states on the same day.

Meanwhile, Manipur Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president O Malesh told Newmai News Network that Modi`™s Manipur visit has been confirmed by the party.

Manipur BJP president Th Chaoba, now in New Delhi, has also confirmed the Prime Minister`™s Manipur visit, Malesh said.

The state BJP workers are being lined up to welcome Modi with party flags and posters of the Prime Minister, Malesh said quoting Chaoba.

During the visit, Modi will also inaugurate the newly constructed Syama Prasad Mookerjee Hall at the State BJP office complex, Malesh said.
