The Poseur
By RK Lakhi Kant

He`s on a motorbike
dressed formally
traveling swiftly.
A file is wedged
in the space in-between
the head lamp and
the fuel tank
where the wind
is most forceful.
An important file
it seems; maybe
an interview
or a business deal.
But he`s traveling
fast `cause he
does not know
which is more
important – the file,
punctuality, the deal,
himself or the bike.
He`s a city dweller
used to traveling fast
without concern for
his or others`
safety or loss.
He`s to be on
the fast track
like it or not:
a price exacted by
the city to live life.
How can we restore
or ensure the
simple pleasures
of his life.
As of now he`s a
poser who wants
to believe
he enjoys life.
