UTLA(SK Thadou) denies allegations of Jiribam and Tamenglong Kuki Inpi

JIRIBAM, November 26: In a press meet, the general secretary of United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA, SK Thadou), T Robert Singsong denied the allegations of Kuki Inpi, Jiribam and Tamenglong that the armed cadres of the outfit had thrashed Kuki Students Organisation, Tamenglong Branch secretary and Tatbung village chief Hemkhojang Haokip.

The general secretary of Tatbung Village authority, J Thangboy Kuki also denied the allegation during the press meet.

Singsong told media persons that their outfit has been trying to maintain cordial relationships with neighbouring villages and is living amidst the people by bringing peace. Such allegation during such a juncture is unfortunate, he added.

Singsong also made an appeal to the leadership of the Central Kuki Inpi to elect the new office bearers of both the Kuki Inpi of Jiribam and Tamenglong soon as the tenure of the current office bearers had ended in July this year.

Thangboy Kuki vehemently denied the allegation of the armed cadres of UTLA (S.K. Thadou) ever having beaten up the village chief of Tatbung village.

The outfit is a signatory of Suspension of Operation agreement with the government.
