IMPHAL, November 26: Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR have apprehended a woman along with the contraband drugs on November 25 at a vehicle check post along NH 102, Sita Road Junction.
According to a release of the PRO, the apprehendee was identified as Wahengbam Ibemcha Devi, 46, wife of (L) Wahengbam of Khekman Mayai Leikai, Thoubal.
She was apprehended while travelling in a Maruti Van with Registration No MN 01 5213 and heading towards Imphal. Around 220 gm of heroin (estimated cost Rs. 1.10 crore) and a mobile phone were recovered from her possession. The apprehendee along with the recovered items has been handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau, Imphal, it said.
