IMPHAL, December 19: Seven international models sashayed down the ramp alogn with others from the State including Lin Laishram and Lina Chongloi dressed in creations of State designers today at the Bheigyachandra Open Air Theatre.
The Elegance of the Dancing Looms fashion show organised by the Blue Wings Event had seven international models- Reneta and Ivana from Slovakia, Dani and Joice from Brazil, Marina and Irena from Ukraine and Anna from Russia walking down the ramp in Manipuri traditional dresses including wedding dresses, modern designs and ready to wear designs created by the several designers from the State.
The designers whose creations were showcased today are Chaoba & Elleza, Bobocha Laishram, Joy Samurou, Bung by Bung, Linmichong Khamrang, Maxwell, Bijen & Boy, Sunida Meinam and William.
The ramp presented bridal collection, handloom attires, basic attires, ready to wear casual, women & men collections.
The event was opened with young folk singer Mangka Mayanglambam entertaining the crowd with her special numbers including `Hada Samadon Ayangba`™
Earlier in the day, the international models attended a tree plantation programme at Chamalou Khoidoupat, Iroisemba.
The programme was conducted in association with the Chamalou Development Society, CDS.
The models planted tree samplings at the area to promote the Green Manipur campaign initiated by CDS since 2011.
Meanwhile, speaking to IFP, the models observed the State to be a wonderful place.
One of the Ukranian models said the spicy food of the State was to her taste and liking.
