IMPHAL, December 18: Locals of Yairipok Huidrom Leikai and its adjoining areas damaged the houses belonging to Laishram Ojit, 30 and Laishram Achou, 57 of the locality for thier alleged involvement in the disappearances of Huidrom Pratap, 13 and Laishram Basanta alias Lukhoi, 21 to unknown persons since December 2.
A highly charged group of meira paibees and locals from different parts of Yairipok stormed into the residences of Ojit and Achou.
Earlier before the incident, a public meeting was held at Singa Lampak of Yairipok in connection with the alleged trafficking of Pratap and Basanta.
Halfway into the meeting, some locls stormed into the residences of the accused leading to more joining them.
It may be recalled that the JAC formed in connection with the incident had on December 13 demanded the safe release of Pratap and Basanta within five days`™ time.
Today`™s meeting was held following the failure of all concerned to heed to its demand.
