Imp-Moreh highway stretch a top priority says Ratankumar

IMPHAL, December 5: Development of the Imphal-Moreh highway road stetch is a top priority of the government, State Works minister Kh Ratankumar told media persons today.

He was speaking on the sideline of an inspection tour of the road today.

The minister was accompanied by Tengnoupal MLA K Korungthang and officials of PWD during the inspection.

He said the road is important as it will serve as the country`™s connect to the South East Asia.

The trans Asia highway is supposed to pass along this route and the government need to be ready and improve the road condition, he said.

However, during the inspection the minister lamented that the condition of the Lakchao bridge was deteriorating.

He said the bridge was constructed during the World War II and the State government has already submitted a proposal to the Centre to convert it into an RCC bridge.
