IMPHAL, December 7: The Auxiliary Service for Human Affairs (ASHA), H.O. Sagolmang has stated in a press release that it conducted a Sensitisation Meeting on TB Control Programme in collaboration with Emmanual Hospital Association (EHA), New Delhi under Axshaya Project at all the villages of Imphal East-1, CD Block in November this year.
It further stated that the meeting conducted by Field Assistant S Henba Meetei covered seven villages and witnessed the participation of about 250 people including `local leaders, youth leaders and women leaders`.
The participants were sensitised about TB and were imparted knowledge about how to get diagnosed and treated under DOTS and MDR medicines. Three persons were found to be TB infected when the sputa of 15 people suspected of being infected with the disease were collected and sent to the local health centre for a test. It added.
