State Govt employees submit memo to PM

IMPHAL, December 27: The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions`™ Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) has said that a delegation team of the JAC participated in the XV National Conference of ALL India State Government Employees`™ Federation (AISGEF) held at Zirekpur, Chandigarh from December 20 to 23.

According to a release of the JAC, the delegation team included its President, Dr. M. Rajendra Singh, Senior Vice-President, B. Ghanashyam Sharma, Secretary General, Purujit Lairikyengbam, Secretary

Administration, RK Basumani, Secretary Finance, T. Joy Kom and Publicity Secretary, L. Kuber Meitei.

The team had also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on December 17 during their stay at Delhi emphasizing on public, employees, pensioners and workers issues. The attention of the Prime Minister was also drawn towards redress, fulfilment of many grievances and demands, it said.

During the XV National Conference, JAC has place all the issues such as incomplete implementation of the 6th Pay, disparities, irregularities in payment of DA/DR, demands for implementation of 7th

Pay in all States from its exact date of effect, regularisation of Work-charged, Muster Rolls, Contract, Part Time and Casual employees.

Stress was also given to safeguard the interest of Government employees in particular and the working class at large against the onslaught unleashed by the ruling class. The conference demanded the Government for the reversal of its anti-people policies so that the Government employees in particular and all working people in general are ensured job security due social and economic benefits and call upon the employees to rise to the occasion and prepare for a united struggle, it said.

During the conference, Secretary General of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO and General Secretary of Manipur Secretariat Services Association, Purujit Lairikyengbam has been elected as the National Secretary of AISGEF and future course of action will be announced shortly, it said.
