IMPHAL, December 30: Investigative agencies, no matter how high, can find out the truth behind the discovery of skulls and skeletons from the site of Tombisana School as the State government has already tampered with the evidences.
This was alleged by N Sovakiran, president of MPP reacting to the recent decision of the State government to hand over the sensitive case of the discovery of skulls and bones from the premises of Tombisana School during excavation work for constructing a new market complex.
He was speaking to media at the office of MPP, near Polo Ground Imphal today.
The MPP president questioned why the government and its authorities concerned are still continuing with the excavation work even after the ghastly discovery was made.
Further he alleged that there is no point in handing over the case to any investigative agencies when the government does not understand or respect the importance of the case.
As we know in our State that many people have gone missing during the last 15 years of Congress rule, with the excavation work still going on, the government has shown how it disrespect people`™s sentiment, he added.
He continued that under the shadow of AFSPA 1958, there have been tortures and killings of innocent people by the security forces in the State. Moreover, there have been cases of fake encounter which the Supreme Court has already started examining, he said before demanding immediate halting of excavation works at the said site.
