IMPHAL, December 30: Two consignments containing a huge number of Spasmo Proxyvon drugs were recovered from the Imphal Head Police Office on December 29, said the police today.
On December 29, a team of the Narcotic Cell, Imphal West seized two parcels containing 26,884 Spasmo Proxyvon capsules from the Imphal Head Post Office, according to a statement of the PRO Police.
It said the approximate value of the seized drugs consignments is around Rs 2 lakhs in the grey market. A case has been registered at Imphal Police Station and investigation is going on, it said.
The statement also said that acting on specific information about the presence of unknown valley based armed cadres in the general area of Khoidumpat, a combined team of District Police Commando, Thoubal and 22 Assam Rifles conducted search operation at Khoidum Makha Leikai today.
It said during the search operation, several weapons were recovered and seized including a Lathode gun with two live rounds, one each of 9mm pistol, 0.32 pistol, Chinese hand grenade, American type grenade, smoke grenade, detonator, 10 live rounds of AK ammunition and eigh) live rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
A case has been registered at Kakching Police Station and investigation is going on, it said.
On December 29, acting on an information about the presence of some active members of PREPAK in Ghari area, a team of District Police Commando, Imphal West conducted frisking and checking at Ghari Lamkhai during which an active member of PREPAK, namely, Md Yunush Khan, 28, son of Abdul Salam of Heiyel Loubuk, Thoubal district was arrested, it said.
Incriminating articles were seized from his possession and a case has been registered at Lamphel Police Station and investigation is going on, according the police statement.
