IMPHAL, January 3: The Popular Front of India, Manipur State in a press release has stated that its national general assembly elections, 2014 were conducted on December 27, 28 and 29. The assembly election was participated by members of the national executive council and by its representatives at the national level, it added.
KM Sharif of Karnataka was elected as the chairman, IM Abdul Rahim of Kerala as the vice-chairman, Muhammed Ali Jinnah of Tamil Nadu as the general secretary and Muhammed Khalid Rashid of Manipur as the treasurer, it said.
It further stated that the newly elected chairman gave the introductory speech while the outgoing general secretary OM Asalam presented a report of the previous term.
