UKHRUL, January 30: An emotional plea for establishment of a memorial park along with a statue of late Yangmaso Shaiza somewhere in Imphal or Ukhrul literally resounded across the fully congregated campus of the Little Angel`™s School at Tangrei, Ukhrul where the 31st Death Anniversary of the former chief minister was observed on Friday.

The programme was jointly organized by the Yangmaso Shaiza Memorial Trust (YSMT), Ukhrul and the United All Communities Social Uplifters Kangleipak (UNACSU), Imphal.

Addressing the gathering in her key note speech, daughter in law of the former tribal chief minister and administrator of Little Angel`™s School, Ms Soso Shaiza said that simplicity was the hallmark of late Yangmaso Shaiza which illuminated many underpriviledged souls during his short life span.

Further recalling the multi-faceted Naga leader whose fated life was deeply embedded in the selfless service of humanity, she stated that awo Yangmaso could not see any difference between the valley and hill people.

She then made an earnest appeal to the State authority to establish a memorial park having his statue installed in it, somewhere either in Ukhrul or Imphal while exuding a fervent hope the dream would ultimately materialize through the consistent efforts of UNACSU.

The program also saw sentimental eulogy speeches from N. Luikham, IAS (Retd), PR. Yangkahao (Retd) chairman, BSEM ans W. Victor Kaping (Retd) Jt. Director while Dr. Homen Thangjam, Asst. Professor MB College, Imphal, laishram Biren, President UNACSU and Dr. Shimreingam Hungyo, Professor Pettigrew College, Ukhrul pronounced exhortation speeches.

Vote of thanks was toasted by Mayo Shaiza, younger brother of the late Naga leader.
