IMPHAL, January 24: The Superintendent of Police, Imphal West notified that there are serious apprehensions that anti-social elements particularly UGs are planning to plant/explode IEDs in the bazar areas, roadside of the National Highways, State Highways, river banks of Nambul River, Imphal River and Naga Nullah which may cause serious death and injuries to the general public.
A release of the SP appealed to the public to cooperate and help the police restricting piling/throwing/littering of the solid wastes at the bazar areas, roadsides of the National Highways, State Highways of greater Imphal areas river banks and river beds of Imphal River, Nambul River, Naga Nullah with immediate effect.
Stringent legal action will be taken up against violators, it said.
Furthermore, the general public are requested to inform presence of any suspected unattended objects/items like bags, vehicles, toys, utensils, boxes etc, to SP/IW Control Room (0385-2450214), SP/IW Office (0385-2450159), SP/IW Mobile (9436023018), ASP (Ops)/IW, (9862497906) or ASP(L and O)/IW (9612950895), it said.
