IMPHAL, February 26: In all 846 numbers of vehicles are allotted to the Police Department of Manipur including SPs and Officer in-charge of every districts, said Home Minister Giakhangam.
Gaikhangam stated this while replying to query raised by Samuel Resom MLA Ukhrul Assembly Constituency, during the question hour during the second day of 10thsession of the tenth Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The Home Minister further said that of the total vehicles 206 numbers of vehicles are allotted to Hills which included 32 vehicles for SP Churchandpur, 40 vehicle for SP Chandel, 54 vehicle for SP Senapati, 37 vehicles for SP Tamenglong and 43 vehicles for SP Ukhrul.
Of the remaining 640 allotted to four valley districts a 234 numbers of vehicle are for SP Imphal West, 151 vehicles under Imphal East SP, 105 vehicles under Bishnupur SP and 150 vehicles under Thoubal SP.
The numbers of vehicles also incorporated for Officer in-charge of every districts, said Gaikhangam.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Gaikhangam who is also holding the portfolio of Tribal Development, informed the house that the economic development packaged for Hills amounting to Rs 51 crore, funded by Ministry of DoNER, is still on its course and fund are on its way to achieve the goal.
Gaikhangam was responding to calling attention motion moved by Andro MLA Th Shyamkumar Singh.
The oppistion MLA moving his motion drew the attention of TD Minister Gaikhangam on the alleged cancellation of funding in the Hills due to the inability to provide photograph and utilisation certificate.
Further in his response, the Gaikhangam said that Utilization Certificate and Photographs of scheme or project for the economic development of Hills funded by DoNER Ministry have been sent to the concern Ministry DoNER recently adding that the fund will release shortly.
He revealed that with the state facing lack of resources for economic development of Hills it relied on centrally sponsor scheme.
Subsequently, 51 crores for economic development of Hills under the 13thFinance Commission, was sanctioned by the DoNER Ministry.
A sum of rupees 21.75 crores has been acquired in four time instalment basis for the fiscal year 2011-12, 2012-13 and to acquire the remaining amount Rupees 21.75 crores, for the fiscal years, 2013-14, 2014-15, necessary UC has been sent to the concerned Ministry after due consultation with the six finance review committee and finance department of India. The latest UC was also submitted to DoNE on February 19, 2015, said Gaikhangam.
