Central Silk Board secretary to attend review meeting of sericulture projects

IMPHAL, February 1: The member secretary of Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Ishita Roy IAS, will be at Imphal to attend a review meeting on the Sericulture projects taken up in state for two days.

A highly reliable source said Roy will be in Manipur on February 4. During her visit she will attend the review meeting and witness the progress achieved by the Manipur Sericulture Project under NER-TPS (North Eastern Region Textiles Promotion Scheme/catalytic Development programme) by the state.

Source further mentioned that the Central Silk Regional office Ministry of Textiles Government of India has directed the State to declare Ishita Roy as state guest during her visit to Manipur and extend necessary protocol assistance like security etc as per norms.

She will hold a review meeting on the Manipur Sericulture Project under NER-TPS on February 4 and she will visit Regional Tasar Research Station CSB Imphal. Thereafter, she will visit Mulberry Grainage, Reeling and Weaving Units and hold discussions with Senior State Officials and Stakeholders at Sangaipat on February 5.

Later she will leave Imphal for Bengaluru by Air India flight said the source.
