IMPHAL, February 22: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh flagged off the `Route NE` which is a 15 days long peace and harmony expedition organised by ISTV Network, Imphal from the western gate of Kangla (main gate) today at around 8: 45 am.
AMWJU president W Samjai also attended the flagging-off of the tour. The NE tour will cover 11 different places of the North East with an objective of bringing peace and harmony among the Manipuri people residing at the eight North Eastern states..
During the flagging-off programme, Chief Minister O Ibobi said the tour in his opinion was the first of its kind in the State organised by a local TV Network, further wishing the team to return home safe and sound. Lauding the TV network for its contribution on the dissemination of news and information, he wished a long service life for the network.
During the tour, the 10-member team of ISTV will perform various interaction programmes with Manipuris living in other NE States. The team would live-telecast the programmes to local subscribers.
