IMPHAL, February 24: As part of their agitations against the government for not meeting their demand to repair the roads within the college campus, the students of DM College today burnt the effigy of Education minister M Okendro Singh.
The agitation was organised by joint students`™ union of DM College. The general secretary of the union, Yumnam Ranjan said repeated requests to repair the road within the campus have felt into deaf ears.
The arterial roads within the campus have been lying deteriorated and are unattended by the State government, he said, adding the poor road condition within the college campus has affected the students.
He maintained that the education minister has already assured to look into the matter but he has failed to address the demands of the students.
He further stated that classes will remain boycott until their demands are met.
