IMPHAL, February 1: Meira Paibi leader popularly known as Ima Kombi was remembered today on her 11thdeath anniversary organized by Porei Leiramorl Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAP) at THAU ground.
Floral tribute was paid at her memorial site at Lamphel Sana Keithel.
PLMPAM general secretary RK Landhoni speaking at the function said that Ima Kombi was born on January 5, 1932 at Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi Kongjeng Leikai. She died in the year 2004.
She took key role in the formation of PLMPAM on August 25, 1985 which aimed in strengthening of the `Meira Paibi`™ movement in Manipur.
Her name is still remembered among the Meira Paibi community and people of the State for her unrelenting participation in the movement against the atrocities of Security forces.
During her lifetime Ima Kombi took active participation in the movements regarding protection of territorial integrity of the State or whether it is human rights violation issues or be it campaigns against drug abuse and degradation of moral values among the youths, she said.
