IMPHAL, Feb 16: The United National Liberation Front (UNLF) today issued a final warning against the board of directors (BOD) of the Imphal Urban Co-operative Bank (IUCB) to step down from its posts within four days failing which they were warned to be ready to face dire consequences.

A statement issued by M Sak-hen, director in-charge of the outfit, said that having exposed the malpractices taking place within the IUCB the outfit in a statement intimated the BODs to step down from their posts immediately. However, they failed to heed the warning.

Subsequently, the outfit sent a second warning, it said adding that rather than acknowledging the warning the directors continue to indulged in anti people activities.

Instead, in the wake of the controversy, the BODs regularised 17 contract employees including four relatives of some of the BODs, it alleged.

Urging the people that it was high time to be able to read between the lines, it exhorted the people to stand against subversive activities that has becoming a debilitating force and further appealed to the people to co-operate with the outfit`™s cleansing efforts.
