IMPHAL, Feb 13: A woman sustained burn injuries while four houses were gutted in to separate fire incidents today.
The first incident occurred 8.20 am today at Uripok Bachaspati Leikai.
The victim has been identified as Haobijam Ongbi Elena Devi, 24, wife of H Victor. She sustained 30 percent burnt injury including her face.
She was initially evacuated to RIMS and later referred to the Shija Hospital burn care unit.
Reports said the fire was caused by an electric heater.
On the other hand, four house gutted were gutted at Kongba Kshetri Leikai 8.30 am today.
The houses belonged to Konsam Rajendro, 60, K Basanta, K Komol and K Romen (brother by relation).
Official sources said that the fire was ignited following an electrical short circuit.
Even though the fire was contained by the fire department, properties worth Rs. 2 lakhs were damaged.
