BJP mass enrolment programme held at Moreh

IMPHAL, March 31: A one-day political awareness camp cum mass enrolment programme was held at Moreh town under the aegis of BJP Moreh Mandal.

The enrolment programme was attended by BJP Mahila Morcha national vice president A Sarda Devi, BJP Moreh Mandal president TT Haokip and social worker N Itomba Meetei.

Speaking at the gathering, A Sarda Devi charged that the 13 years old Congress rule in the State has done nothing for the people, but indulged in corruption, malpractices and misappropriation of public money.

While Ministers, bureaucrats and contractors are building up palatial houses and enjoying all comforts of life, the poor are becoming poorer day by day with the state failing to take up concrete development work and reach out the benefits of welfare schemes to the common people, she maintained.

The state government has not taken up measures to uplift the living status of the woman and children. In order to do away with all these wrongdoings and misgoverning, it is crucial to elect a BJP Government in the next Manipur Legislative Assembly election, she said.

The mass enrolment drive of BJP was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November last year with the primary objective of making BJP the most powerful political party in the country, she pointed out.

The BJP woman chief also visited Hollenphai village located in the Indo-Myanmar border where she met the village chief Laluholun Haokip.

The village chief informed the BJP Woman leader about the sufferings meted out to the people of the village in terms of shortage of drinking water, health care facilities, bad road connectivity.

He also maintained that the Burmese Army continue to serve threat to the villager.

He said that Myanmar will take away the village from India if Government of India fails to address the complaints of the villagers, he added.
