CPI Puducherry meet accepts Manipur resolution on AFSPA

IMPHAL, March 27: The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council has stated that a statement put up by Manipur delegate led by Dr. M Nara was passed during the on the 2nd day of the 22nd National Congress held at Puducherry since March 25 to repeal Arm Forces Special Power`™s Act from Manipur and North Eastern region.

According to a release of the party, the statement put up so that the matter can be brought up before the NDA government.

The statement was put up as Private Member Resolution by the Manipur delegates. Strong pressure to move the statement was made by Secretariat member, L. Lala, L. Sotinkumar, L. Thoiren, Khollao Thakhai, Kh. Surchand, Women Leader, M. Sakhi Devi and Kshetri Tama along with N. Achouba, K. Bimol of Moirang, Th. Meghachandra of Patsoi, etc. The statement was passed unanimously after General Secretary of the party, Sudgakar Reddy after the statement was shared with the other delegates, it said.

The National Congress was also taken part by Left Party, CPI (M), Forward Block, RSP and CPI (ML) fraternal delegates, it said.
