AMMSU to pull up black marketers of petrol

IMPHAL, Apr 17: Taking serious note of the sudden scarcity of fuels in the past few days following closure of oil pumps without any valid reasons, a team of All Manipur Minorities Students`™ Union (AMMSU) led by its president Syed Nawas Khan on Friday inspected oil pumps including Friendly Service Station, Khurai Oil Service, NRL Oil Pump, Tuks & Bons Fuel Service, Kusum Service Station, PCTC Oil Pump and Balkiwal Enterprises and found many of them not distributing petrol though some were found distributing diesel.

In a statement, the union said many black marketers were seen selling petrol in the vicinity of the pumps during the inspection even though stocks of petrol were claimed nil.

Questioning the government from where the large quantity of petrol being sold by black marketers came from, the union pledged that it will start pulling up black marketers who are selling petrol at much higher rate.
